Workplace
Crown Oil recognises the importance of our colleagues’ health and wellbeing and ensures that all workplaces, including our offices and depots adhere to the highest health and safety standards.

Local communities
Crown Oil is extremely passionate about having a positive impact on our local communities and supports a number of local charities, causes and businesses.
Staff volunteering days
We have also started a staff corporate volunteering programme where colleagues can take part in paid volunteering days while bringing a variety of benefits for local communities.

Being a safe and sustainable business is at the heart of our business strategy and is essential for the future of our employees, our customers and our communities.
- We reduced our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 83% against the 2021/2022 baseline
- We’ve prevented 85% of our waste going to landfill
- We’ve delivered sustainability training across the business
- We’ve upgraded ventilation and heat controls at our head office
- We’re reducing around 3000 tCO2e each year by running our entire fleet on HVO
- We’ve achieved carbon neutral status in line with PAS 2060:2014

Health, safety, quality and environmental accreditations
Crown Oil proudly has a number of accreditations in areas across energy management, environmental management and quality management. This provides complete assurance to our stakeholders that we’re meeting the highest standards across our operations.
Crown Oil has its own in-house quality assurance. We regularly self-audit to ensure all quality controls within our organisation are being adhered to.
ISO standards
Keeping our customers, staff and the environment safe is paramount and our dedication to quality is demonstrated through robust management systems and accreditations in. A division of our company ‘Crown Oil Environmental’ has the following certifications and as such, we will mirror all policies and procedures within Crown Oil:
- ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
- ISO 9001 (Quality)
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
The ISO standards ensure our business practices are in line with an internationally recognised accreditation, reassuring our customers that our business operations are in a professional and trustworthy manner.
UKIFDA
The UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association is a Trade Association for the liquid fuels industry. Being a member helps further our knowledge and gives us a voice directly into the government if required.
Achilles UVDB Verify
An independent audit of an organisation’s Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) management systems and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), giving us a clear understanding of the industry’s qualification requirements.
Oil Recycling Association
As a member of the UK Trade Association to the Waste Recycling Industry, we operate in the recovery/recycling of hazardous and difficult non-hazardous waste.
Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme
The RFAS verifies our claims surrounding the supply of renewable fuels regarding the GHG emission savings and provenance of raw material feedstocks.
International Sustainability & Carbon Certification
Our HVO product is ISCC verified at import, enabling us to provide a clear history and breakdown of derivation of raw material collection through to HVO delivery.
Zemo Partnership Member
Being a Zemo member gives us insight and access to the highest levels of corporate and government policy making as well as technical developments.
