Crown Oil Sponsors UKIFDA EXPO & Future Fuels Conference 2022
As the world becomes increasingly concerned with how energy is produced, we are actively encouraging our customers to adopt low emission energy solutions, including sustainable fuels and technology, to help reduce emissions.
Crown Oil is one of the UK’s largest HVO fuel suppliers and we have switched our own fleet over to the advanced renewable diesel as part of our commitment to achieve net-zero direct emissions by 2030.
However, whilst HVO has been approved for use as a direct diesel alternative in a wide range of applications, the heating oil industry is still some way behind. We’ve been working with UKIFDA and OFTEC to help urge the government to incentivise HVO as a viable and cost-effective alternative to what’s currently available for off-grid homeowners.
As part of this, we’ve been the main supplier of HVO to their residential renewable liquid fuel demonstration project, Future Ready Fuel, which seeks to switch 200 homes relying on heating oil to HVO by Christmas 2021.
Following on from our successful collaboration, we are excited to announce that we are the official sponsor of the UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA) for the Future Fuels Conference UKIFDA EXPO 2022.
The Crown Oil journey from lamp oil to HVO is so reminiscent of the journey many fuel supply companies have taken, where innovation has been key to the longevity of the industry. When one door starts to shut another surely opens – but always based on the values we all hold of ensuring our customers are provided with the right product for their needs.
I can’t think of a better sponsor for our Future Fuel conference next year in Liverpool. Governments and devolved powers are beginning to realise there is a continuing need to supply liquid fuels but ones that have significantly reduced impact on the environment.
