What’s involved in tank decommissioning?
Site visit – Before we can decommission your oil tank, we’ll visit your premises to carry out a site survey. Our engineers will investigate your tank(s) history, its condition and the surrounding area.
Quotation – You’ll receive a full quotation, and which includes the most cost-effective solution, including options that enable reuse of the tank in the future if required.
Planning – We’ll plan the entire process to ensure we cause minimal disruption to your operations.
Fuel uplift – Our team will remove any liquids, residue and gases from your tank – you’ll receive a gas-free certificate as well as a consignment note for all liquids removed from the tank.
Tank fill or removal – We’ll then either fill your unused tank with concrete or RG22 foam – or remove it from your site completely.
Temporary decommissioning – RG22 foam filling
With foam filling, tanks can safely be decommissioned without disrupting your operations. That’s because unlike concrete, there’s no need to degas a fuel tank before injecting the resin. Plus, if you need to reuse your tank in the future, the foam can be removed, the tank cleaned and put back into use. Learn more about our foam filling services.
